50 highway, bridge, aviation, port, bike, and pedestrian projects in 27 counties across Pennsylvania have been selected for $54 million in funding through the Multimodal Transportation Fund (MTF).
In Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County, $972,000 will support the redesign of the intersection at Prince Street and Houcks Road to make it safer for pedestrians and vehicles. In Allentown, more than $545,000 will create an ADA-accessible bicycle and pedestrian connection between Trexler and Cedar Creek parks; and in Avondale, Chester County, over $645,000 in Multimodal funds will support the full reconstruction of a section along Pennsylvania Avenue.
Several of the projects will also help local governments address bridges and roadways in need of repair or replacement.
“Whether we’re making roadways more accessible to all modes of travel or creating new connections for businesses investing in our communities, we’re investing in projects that make people’s lives better,” said PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll.
PennDOT will begin accepting applications for the next round of MTF grants on September 14, 2026, at 8:00 AM. Applications are due by 4:00 PM on October 30, 2026. Grant recipients for funding available in summer 2027 are expected to be announced next year.
