American Lung Association Sapphire Gala in Hershey to Help Defeat Lung Cancer

The 29th Annual Sapphire Gala to help support the American Lung Association in Pennsylvania is Saturday, March 14 at the Hershey Lodge.  The mission is to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through research, education and advocacy. This elegant evening features an enchanting masquerade ball, music dinner, dancing, raffles and a silent auction.

The evening highlights the fact that more than 1,718,698 Pennsylvanians are suffering from chronic lung disease, like asthma and COPD, making it difficult to breathe every day. Join us as we honor our lung heroes and champions and raise the funds necessary to support critical lung health research, education and advocacy.

By supporting events like the gala, guests help the Lung Association realize its goal of a world free of lung disease by helping to fund research for new treatments for chronic lung diseases, advance smoking cessation through Quit Don’t Switch and the Freedom From Smoking programs, early lung cancer detection with Saved By The Scan and advocate for tobacco free and clean air initiatives so that all Pennsylvanians can breathe easier.

Flora Posteraro, an Emmy Award winning former TV Anchor/Reporter for several TV stations in Pennsylvania including Philadelphia and Harrisburg, Co-host of Chick2Chick podcast and Senior Multi-Media Specialist for PennWatch.org will Emcee the event.

The Lung Association would like to recognize UPMC Pinnacle as the Sapphire sponsors and Genentech as the Platinum sponsor. A special thank you to this year’s other sponsors which include: UPMC Pinnacle, Genentech, Highmark and Penn State Health. Capital BlueCross, Enterprise
