Downtown Carlisle is set to become a “cool” wonderland this weekend as the 10th Annual Ice Art Fest officially kicks off. Running from Friday, February 6, through Sunday, February 8, the milestone celebration features over 100 intricate ice sculptures, live demonstrations, and the return of fan-favorite activities.
Organized by the Downtown Carlisle Association (LoveCarlisle), the festival is expected to draw thousands to the borough’s historic streets, even as temperatures are forecast to stay in the crisp 20s—perfect for preserving the frozen masterpieces.
The festivities begin Friday evening and continue through the weekend with a packed schedule:
Ribbon Cutting & Throne Unveiling: The event officially starts Friday at 5:00 PM in the Veteran’s Courtyard with the unveiling of the UPMC Royal Ice Throne.
Live Carvings: Watch the magic happen on Saturday at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM on the Town Square, where professional carvers will turn massive blocks of ice into art.
The Ice Bar: Located at the 1794 Whiskey Rebellion (Comfort Suites), the Ice Bar opens Friday at 4:00 PM and Saturday at 11:00 AM, offering outdoor spirits in a frosty setting.
The Snow Zone: New for 2026, this dedicated play area at the Cumberland County Historical Society Pocket Park offers family-oriented fun for a $5 admission.
For those looking for a scenic view of the sculptures, Benchfield Farms is offering horse-drawn carriage rides throughout the weekend.
