The official arrival of spring is a sure sign that roller coaster riding season at Hersheypark is almost here! This week, the Hersheypark maintenance team is using a massive crane to lift the roller coaster trains, including Skyrush and sooperdooperLooper, back onto the tracks after their extensive winter overhaul.

The largest amusement park in Pennsylvania kicks off its 120th operating year on Friday, April 3, for the seven fun-filled Spring Weekends event through May 17. Hours vary by day this spring, with extended hours over Easter Weekend (April 3–5).

During Spring Weekends, guests can enjoy rides on the largest coaster collection in the Northeast, family attractions, and Hershey Character photo opportunities.

This landmark 120th season is also a year of major anniversaries for some of the park’s most legendary attractions. 2026 marks:

  • 80 Years of Comet: The oldest continuously operating coaster in the park, and the last one purchased by Milton S. Hershey himself.

  • 65 Years of the Dry Gulch Railroad: The beloved steam-powered train that has been a family staple since 1961.

  • 60 Years of Kiddie Classics: Fan favorites like the Granny Bugs, Tiny Tracks, and Minty Bees are celebrating six decades of smiles.

Guests returning this spring will notice several fresh additions to the park’s landscape. A brand-new retail location, Destination Hershey, has opened across from the Fahrenheit roller coaster, offering apparel and souvenirs that celebrate the history of the town. Meanwhile, the Coaster Collectables shop has moved to a new home in the Founder’s Way region.

Foodies can head over to The Chocolatier Restaurant, Bar + Patio to sample the new spring menu, which features seasonal dishes and a “Beef and Bourbon” culinary activation. For a quick cool-down, a second Rita’s Italian Ice location has been added near the Chick-fil-A patio in Founder’s Way.

While the coasters are ready to roll, The Boardwalk At Hersheypark water park will remain closed until its daily summer opening on May 23, where it is set to debut two new water park enhancements for 2026.
