With the Powerball® jackpot climbing to an estimated annuity value worth $1.7 billion or $770.3 million cash ahead of Saturday’s drawing, the Pennsylvania Lottery is recognizing 11 winning Powerball® tickets sold from the Wednesday, September 3 drawing that are worth a combined total of $2.4 million. This includes:
- One prize worth $1 million sold in Allegheny County
- One prize worth $500,000 sold in Centre County
- 9 prizes worth $100,000 sold in various parts of the Commonwealth
Congratulations to Center Independent Oil, 1980 Painters Run Road, Scott Township, Allegheny County, for selling the $1 million-winning Powerball® ticket. The ticket matched five of the five white balls drawn, 3-16-29-61-69, to win $1 million, less applicable withholding. The retailer will earn a $5,000 bonus for selling the ticket.
The Lottery is also congratulating GIANT Food Stores, 2121 South Atherton St., College Township, Centre County, for selling a $500,000-winning Powerball® with Double Play® ticket. Double Play® is an optional add-on feature to the main Powerball game that, for an additional $1 per play, gives players another chance to win with their Powerball® numbers in a separate drawing with a top cash prize of $10 million. The Double Play® drawing is held after every Powerball® drawing.
The $500,000-winning ticket matched five of the five Double Play® balls drawn, 7-32-39-50-61, but not the Double Play® Powerball® number 4, to win $500,000, less applicable withholding. The retailer will earn a $500 bonus for selling the ticket.
Of the nine Powerball® with Power Play® prizes worth $100,000 won in last night’s drawing, eight were sold at Lottery retailers in the following counties: Philadelphia, Chester, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Cumberland, and Butler. The other $100,000-winning ticket was sold to a player online.
The retailers who sold the winning $100,000 tickets will each earn a $500 bonus. They are:
- C.J. Lee’s Food Market, 4716 Greene St., Philadelphia;
- New Memphis Market, 2327 East Huntingdon St., Philadelphia;
- Wawa, 3710 Lincoln Highway, Caln Township, Chester County;
- Sheetz, 500 Mount Pleasant Drive, Scranton, Lackawanna County;
- Carriage Stop Plaza, 2500 East End Boulevard, Plains Township, Luzerne County;
- Turkey Hill, 2060 Good Hope Road, Hampden Township, Cumberland County;
- Turkey Hill, 2130 South Market St., Upper Allen Township, Cumberland County; and
- Giant Eagle, 223 Grove City Road, Slippery Rock Boro, Butler County.
The nine Powerball® with Power Play® tickets each matched four of the five white balls drawn and the red Powerball® 22 to win $100,000, less applicable withholding. Without the $1 Power Play® option, the tickets would have been worth $50,000 each. The Power Play® multiplier drawn was two.
More than 314,100 other PA Lottery Powerball® tickets won prizes of various amounts in both drawings, including more than 64,600 tickets purchased with Power Play® and more than 32,200 tickets purchased with Double Play®. Players should check every ticket, every time.
Winners are not known until prizes are claimed and tickets are validated. Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball® winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes. Winning tickets purchased at a Lottery retailer should immediately be signed on the back. Online winnings automatically appear in a player’s account after the claim has been processed. Players may visit palottery.com for more information about how to file a claim.
