Energy Future PA has announced that the Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry has become its newest partner organization. The coalition is aimed at promoting Pennsylvania’s energy industry and ensuring that the state remains a leader in the new energy economy.
“We are thrilled to have the Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry as our newest partner,” said former state Rep. Kate Harper, who serves as co-chair of Energy Future PA, along with former state Auditor General Eugene DePasquale. “The business community has a real stake in ensuring Pennsylvania is a leader in our new energy economy – preserving and creating jobs and bringing economic vitality to our communities.”
The chamber’s decision to join the coalition comes at a time when Pennsylvania is competing for federal funding to develop alternative energy facilities, including large-scale regional hydrogen hubs.
“As a chamber, we’re focused on ensuring our businesses and communities can thrive both today and for generations to come,” said Laura Manion, president and CEO, Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry. “Energy Future PA is a natural fit for us, as it welcomes a broad array of voices to the energy conversation, with Pennsylvania jobs and economic growth as core components of its mission.”
“It’s clear that our message is resonating with diverse groups across Pennsylvania,” said DePasquale, Energy Future PA co-chair. “We’re nonpartisan, we’re solution-driven and we believe in an energy future that puts Pennsylvanians first. Together, with the Chester County Chamber and other like-minded organizations, we can lead the nation in a new, innovation-driven energy economy.”
The partnership is the first between a business organization in Pennsylvania and Energy Future PA, which also counts Penn State College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, the Pennsylvania State Building and Construction Trades Council, and PDC Machines, a Bucks County-based manufacturer of hydrogen compressors and fueling stations, among its partners.
