UPMC Lititz is offering free hernia screenings on Oct. 14 and 20, 2026 on the hospital campus at 1500 Highlands Drive, Lititz, PA 17543.
Hernias occur when an organ or other tissue pushes through muscle or connective tissue, often resulting in an out-of-place lump that can be seen or felt. Hernias affect millions of people annually and while they aren’t an urgent issue, they can be painful and lead to health complications including blocked bowels or lost blood supply to certain tissues.
Each event runs between 5:30 and 7 p.m. and will feature the opportunity to meet one-on-one with experienced UPMC general surgeons Margaret Ahrens, MD, Hiep Phan, MD and David Vaughn, MD. Participants will receive a confidential assessment and learn about available treatment options that can help them get back to feeling their best. The surgeons will also perform demonstrations of the surgical robot during the event. Registration is required.
