Homeland Hospice will host its annual Homeland Hospice 5K and Memory Walk on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 9 a.m. at the Rossmoyne Business Center, 5000 Ritter Road, Mechanicsburg.

The event brings together runners, walkers, families, and community members of all ages for a meaningful day of remembrance and support. Proceeds benefit Homeland’s benevolent care programs for residents, clients, patients, and families.

“The Homeland Hospice 5K and Memory Walk is an opportunity for individuals and families to honor loved ones while supporting compassionate care for others,” said Myra Badorf, Assistant Director of Development for Homeland Hospice. “We are grateful for the continued support from our community, which helps us provide services that make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.”

Participants are invited to run or walk the 5K course and take part in the Memory Walk, which is stroller and wheelchair accessible. The event will begin at 9 a.m., with registration available from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. at the Rossmoyne Business Center. The morning will conclude with an awards presentation at 10 a.m., along with a remembrance moment to honor loved ones, light refreshments, and the presentation of event prizes.

The 2025 Homeland Hospice 5K and Memory Walk drew a record crowd of more than 400 participants and raised over $80,000 to support benevolent care and hospice services. The continued growth of the event reflects the strong support of the community and its commitment to honoring loved ones while helping others receive compassionate care.

All participants must register. The registration fee is $25 for individuals ages 13 and older, while children 12 and under may participate free of charge. To guarantee an event t-shirt, registration must be completed by Thursday, September 10. Registrations received after that date will receive t-shirts while supplies last. Online registration will close on Tuesday, September 29 at 4:30 p.m., with in-person registration available on race day.

Participants also have the opportunity to honor the memory of a loved one by adding their name to the front of the event t-shirt with a $25 donation. Names must be submitted by Thursday, September 10.

Professional race timing will be provided, with results posted following the event. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female 5K finishers, with cash prizes of $250 for first place, $150 for second place, and $100 for third place. Additional awards will be given to top finishers across eight age brackets, as well as for the largest team, oldest and youngest participants, and treats for dogs.

The Homeland Hospice 5K and Memory Walk is made possible through the generous support of sponsors and community partners. Sponsorship opportunities are available at multiple levels, providing organizations with opportunities for recognition while supporting a meaningful cause.

Proceeds from the event help fund supportive services for hospice patients and families, including massage therapy, music therapy, and additional in-home relief hours for caregivers. Funds also support residents of Homeland Center whose financial resources have been exhausted, ensuring continued access to compassionate care.
