The Young Women’s Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation “Lanterns of Hope” event held each October has been a night of hope, tears, love, laughter, and community. The goal is to make sure no one fights breast cancer alone.
“This diagnosis nearly broke me. I am only ok because of the YWBCAF. It literally saved me”, said a breast cancer thriver.
In the past, a tent has been filled with other breast cancer survivors and loved ones to offer love, support, and memories of those who died from the disease.
On Sunday, October 4 at 6 p.m. during a LIVE event on the YWBCAF Facebook page, 10 strong women will still be honored in person but due to COVID-19, no one else from the community can attend.
The YWBCAF still wants to fill the tent with light, hope and love by asking supporters to donate a luminaria that evening. You can purchase the luminaria in honor of or in remembrance of a loved one. A note will be sent to you or will go directly to a loved one or a family member.
Each luminaria costs $10 or 3 for $25. You can purchase them at https://ywbcaf.org/lanterns-of-hope/. Please order before Saturday Oct 3rd. You can donate during the LIVE event but it’s helpful if you can purchase a luminaria in advance.
You can also help by sharing the YWBCAF Facebook post: https://www.facebook.com/ywbcaf/photos/a.339996727285/10157560027137286/?type=3&theater
The YWBCAF’s mission is to offer young women with breast cancer emotional, educational and financial support. Your donation and each share of the Facebook link will help a young woman with breast cancer.
