A multi-agency investigation led by law enforcement in Berks County culminated in a major local bust, resulting in the seizure of nearly $17,000 in illegal narcotics, 15 firearms, and the arrest of one suspect.
According to officials, authorities executed targeted search warrants following a weeks-long investigation into illegal drug distribution within the area. During the operation, investigators recovered a substantial cache of illegal drugs and weaponry.
Officers confiscated various controlled substances—including suspected fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine—with an estimated total street value of nearly $17,000. Search teams recovered 15 firearms, along with high-capacity ammunition magazines, packaging materials, and additional drug paraphernalia.
Adalberto Acevedo Jr., 39, of Exeter Township was charged with several drug-trafficking-related charges following a search of a home on Overlook Drive.
The suspect has been remanded to the Berks County Jail and faces multiple felony charges, including:
Possession with Intent to Deliver (PWID)
Persons Not to Possess Firearms (illegal possession of firearms by a prohibited individual)
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Local authorities emphasized that removing both illicit narcotics and illegal firearms from neighborhood streets remains a critical priority for regional safety.
“Taking 15 guns out of circulation alongside thousands of dollars in harmful narcotics makes a immediate, tangible difference in protecting our neighborhoods,” law enforcement representatives noted in a statement.
The investigation remains active, and additional charges or arrests may follow as forensic testing on the seized firearms and chemical analysis of the narcotics are completed.
