Independent cinema, live local music, and small-town charm will take over downtown New Cumberland later this month as the New Cumberland Music + Film Festival returns for its third year, running Thursday, Sept. 17, through Saturday, Sept. 19.
Anchored by the historic West Shore Theatre and organized by the New Cumberland Collective, the multi-day event celebrates regional creative talent by pairing independent film screenings with live musical performances across multiple local venues.
Organizers have expanded this year’s programming with full festival passes, offering community members affordable access to feature films, special anniversary screenings, and late-night musical acts.
Festival Lineup & Event Details
Feature Screenings: The West Shore Theatre serves as the central hub, hosting indie film premieres, music-related documentaries, and a special 30th-anniversary screening of the beloved family classic Matilda.
Live Music Sets: Local and regional bands will perform throughout the weekend across downtown venues, showcasing genres ranging from acoustic rock to indie pop.
Festival Passes: Attendees can purchase a $35 festival pass, which grants admission to all four featured film screenings, or opt for individual event tickets at the door.
Community Focus: Local businesses, eateries, and shops throughout New Cumberland are partnering with the festival to offer dining and shopping specials for attendees.
Organizers emphasize that the festival aims to spotlight the revitalized downtown district while making arts and culture accessible to Central Pennsylvania residents.
