“Operation Holiday Uplift” Donation Drive for Troops Serving Overseas

Georgeann Maguire has turned her Hampden Township home in Cumberland County into mission central for “Operation Holiday Uplift”.  She has spent countless hours packing up donations to ship to Pennsylvania Military Servicemen and women who are away from their families for the holidays.

“I feel very passionate about the importance of supporting our military.  During the holiday season when our troops are serving far away from their families, and specifically serving in places putting them in harm’s way, I think that’s the time when we should really come together to let them know we are thinking of them, that they have our support, and how much we appreciate their sacrifice”, said Maguire.

Maguire is working with the Hampden Township Veterans Recognition Committee to collect donations for the troops.  The boxes loaded with goodies will be shipped to locations like Iraq, Qatar, and Jordan.

HTVRC wants to send packages to 100 military service personnel during the holidays.  2 shipments already went out and reached 3 units. Another shipment will be made in early December.  HTVRC will continue shipping items in early 2020 depending on the response from the community.
