In recognition of Child Abuse Awareness Month this month, the team at Penn State Health Golisano Children’s Hospital planted 505 blue pinwheels.

Each pinwheel represents a child who was seen and treated by the Center for the Protection of Children at the Children’s Hospital over the past year.

The center brings together an interdisciplinary group of Penn State Health clinicians and researchers who are widely respected for their expertise and leadership in the field of child abuse.  Working together to protect and advocate for our most vulnerable patients, this team offers compassionate, specialized care at the Children’s Hospital and outpatient clinics to children and families referred by community agencies and physicians due to concerns about abuse or neglect.
