In a display of resilience and community spirit, Penn State students revealed a record-breaking fundraising total of $18,841,726.53 at the conclusion of THON 2026.

The 46-hour no-sleep, no-sitting dance marathon, held at the Bryce Jordan Center from February 20–22, surpassed last year’s record by more than $1.1 million. The funds benefit Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital, ensuring that no family battling pediatric cancer ever receives a medical bill.

This year’s theme, “Love Leads Forward,” was felt throughout the arena as 707 dancers took to the floor on Friday night. The energy remained high through the grueling overnight shifts, bolstered by the annual surprise national act: indie-pop band Fitz and the Tantrums, who energized the crowd with hits like “HandClap” and “Out of My League.”

“This milestone is a direct reflection of the tireless effort and collective spirit of our community,” said Benjamin Roitman, THON 2026 Executive Director. “We proved that there is no limit to what we can achieve when we stand together.”

As is tradition, the final four hours of the marathon shifted from high-energy performances to a somber and inspiring reflection on the mission. Families shared “Celebration of Life” stories, reminding the thousands in attendance why they stand.

Since its inception, THON has now raised more than $272 million for Four Diamonds, fueling critical research and providing comprehensive care for over 5,500 families.
