Hampden Township has declared a Township-wide Snow Emergency effective 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026, in anticipation of a significant winter storm forecasted to bring over eight inches of snow to the region. This declaration is made in accordance with the Township’s ordinance governing snow emergencies.

During the duration of the emergency, it is unlawful to park or leave a vehicle parked on any public street within the Township. Vehicles found on public roadways after 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 24 may be subject to towing at the owner’s expense, as authorized by Township ordinance.

To assist residents, overflow parking is available at Creekview North Park, Hampden Park, and Salem Park for the duration of the snow emergency. As a reminder, under Township ordinance, once snowfall exceeds eight (8) inches, only vehicles equipped with four-wheel drive, snow tires, or chains may operate on Township roadways.

Residents are strongly encouraged to remain off the roads entirely unless absolutely necessary or in the event of an emergency. Township snow removal operations will prioritize main roads and emergency routes. Crews will begin clearing residential developments once primary roads are passable and safe.

Residents should allow up to 12 hours after the end of snowfall for plowing of local roads to be completed.
