State Police Release Labor Day Weekend Crash Statistics and Enforcement Results

The Pennsylvania State Police released the results of its Labor Day weekend enforcement initiative.

From September 4 to September 7, the PSP investigated 790 crashes, 152 of which were injury-related and resulted in 3 deaths. Impaired driving was a factor in 67 of those crashes, none of which were fatal.

Troopers arrested 450 motorists for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and issued 25,402 citations, including:

  • 6,447 for speeding
  • 770 for failing to wear a seatbelt
  • 84 for not securing children in safety seats
