Student Poster Contest for Alcohol Awareness

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board is accepting submissions for a poster contest focusing on prevention and alternatives to underage drinking and alcohol use.  The contest is open for all Pennsylvania students in grades K-12, and entries are being accepted until Friday, December 20.

“This contest is a creative way to continue an important discussion on the steps we can take to discourage and prevent underage drinking and alcohol abuse,” said Senator Andy Dinniman, who serves as Minority Chair of the Senate Education Committee, said. “It’s not only an artistic outlet, but it’s also a route for community change.”

The PLCB’s Alcohol Awareness Poster Contest offers topics and ideas on positive alternatives to underage drinking, such as getting involved in sports, playing games or volunteering in the community.

Each year, approximately 50 posters are selected by a panel of judges for recognition. Each artist who creates a selected poster will be notified of his or her accomplishment and awarded prize money and/or special recognition from the PLCB.
