Penn State University’s THON dance marathon raised more than $16.9 million this year, almost $2 million more than last year, setting a new record!
The annual 46-hour dance marathon raises money for children and families affected by childhood cancer. All donations collected benefit Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital.
More than 700 students danced for 46 hours to show support for children battling cancer and their families. Students volunteer hours of time, working year-round to raise both funds and awareness, while building relationships with families impacted by childhood cancer.
THON has raised more than $219 million since partnering with Four Diamonds at Penn State Health Children’s Hospital in 1977–raising over $15 million last year alone. The money funds innovative research and comprehensive care while ensuring that none of the 4,800 Four Diamonds families see a medical bill.
