Attorney General Dave Sunday announced felony charges against the treasurer of the Lebanon County Foster Parent Alliance, regarding thefts of more than $46,000 from the nonprofit organization.
The Office of Attorney General charged 36-year-old Sarah Wass with felony counts of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds.
Wass, of Harrisburg, was arraigned when bail was set at $10,000 unsecured.
She was owner of a child care center in Dauphin County when she became LCFPA’s treasurer in 2024.
“This defendant held positions of authority and great trust over organizations that support and empower children when she decided to serve herself by, time and time again, stealing funds that were supposed to help kids and families,” Attorney General Sunday said.
The Lebanon County Foster Parent Alliance is a nonprofit organization supporting foster children and families in and around Lebanon County.
According to the Office of Attorney General investigation, which was assisted by the Lebanon County District Attorney’s Office, Wass made several large cash withdrawals from LCFPA accounts for personal use, and failed to deposit large cash donations.
