UPMC Hanover to Host Free Community Stroke Awareness Event

UPMC Hanover is hosting a Stroke Awareness Wellness Fair for community members to learn about stroke risk factors, symptoms and recovery. Stroke is the fifth leading cause of death, the number one cause of disability, and can affect people of all ages — not just older adults.

At the event, participants can receive free blood pressure and cholesterol screenings, learn about risk factors, signs and symptoms of a stroke, and learn what to do if someone is showing stroke symptoms. More than 12 vendors will be educating community members about resources available to support them in preventing and recovering from strokes and healthy refreshments will be served.

The UPMC Hanover Stroke Awareness Wellness Fair is Wednesday, May 22, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at UPMC Outpatient Center at 2201 Brunswick Drive, Second Floor in Hanover.
